Certified copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates are available at the Town Clerk's Office for $10.00 per certified copy.

Birth & Death Certificates

Effective July 1, 2019, changes were made to the rules for obtaining Birth and Death certificates (PDF). More details can be found online at the Vermont Department of Health website.

To obtain a Birth or Death certificate, you will need to show valid identification and submit an Application for Certified Copy of Vermont Birth or Death Certificate (PDF). You can complete the application at the Town Clerk's office or prepare it ahead of time.

Marriage Licenses

If you are getting married in Vermont, you will need to obtain a marriage license from the town where you reside. If neither party is a Vermont resident, you may go to any Town Clerk's office in Vermont.

You will need to complete a Marriage License Application (PDF) and bring it to the Town Clerk's Office. The marriage license fee is $70.00, which includes one certified copy of your marriage license. Additional copies are $10.00 each.
